ABOUT

OUR BELIEFS.

THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is God’s Word. There is no other written revelation from God to us other than what is found in the scriptures.  The Bible was written by human authors, inspired by God, without any error, completely sufficient and authoritative for faith and life.

GOD
We believe there is only one God, who is the Creator of the universe and its Ruler.  He has eternally existed in three co-equal Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  He is all-knowing, all-powerful, holy, perfect, just, and righteous in all His ways. He is love and therefore merciful and gracious.  He is Father to all who trust in the Son.

JESUS
We believe that God the Father loves the world so much that He sent his only begotten son, Jesus, to this to die on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life.  He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life which made Him the only acceptable sacrifice for sin.  His death on the cross was followed by His bodily resurrection to demonstrate His power of sin and death and the efficacy of His sacrifice.  He ascended to heaven and will one day return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords to reign forever.

HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal and eternal with the Father and the Son.  HE is present in this world to convince men of their need for Jesus Christ.  He lives in all Christians from the moment of salvation and brings power for living in the spiritual understanding and guidance we need.

MAN
We believe man is made in the image of God and is the crowning work of God’ creation.  Every person of every ethnicity possesses full dignity and it worthy of respect and Christian love.  However, by his free choice, man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race and therefore passes on a nature that is inclined toward ins.  Sin separates us form God and only His grace can bridge the gap that exists between mankind and God.

SALVATION
We believe there is no other way to obtain salvation or forgiveness for sins, other than through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.  salvation is therefore by God’s grace accepted in faith alone.  Our salvation is secure forever because it is an act of grace and not self-effort.  Salvation means we are declared righteous through Christ in the eyes of God and by those means alone are made children of God.
This is a short summary of the doctrines of Fellowship Baptist Church.  For a full treatment of our doctrines, they can be found in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

OUR PASTOR.

Since 2004, it has been my blessing to serve alongside my brothers and sisters of Fellowship Baptist Church as pastor.  A pastor’s dream is being able to invest his love for people and God’s truth into a church family for many years.  God has saw fit to allow me to live out that dream here in Meadowview, VA.   Having grown up just across the state line, southwest Virginia has been a wonderful and beautiful place for Erin and I to raise our family and call home. I truly hope you will come by and visit with us.  I would love to get to know you and help you on your journey with the Lord.

 OUR PURPOSE.

At Fellowship Baptist Church, our purpose is clear: to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Everything we do flows from this mission and is shaped by our desire to see lives transformed by the gospel.

We believe true discipleship is marked by three core commitments—Glorifying God, Following Jesus, and Being the Church. These convictions define our priorities, direct our ministries, and guide the way we live out our faith together.

Our structure reflects this purpose as we GATHER to worship, GROW in groups, and GO on mission for Jesus Christ. Through these expressions of faith, we strive to fulfill our calling to bring glory to God and share the hope of Christ with our community and the world.
